Peter Reading
-273.15 The great thing about absolute zero is that you never get there. In 1994 Peter Reading published Last Poems, but no sooner had he died than he decided to resurrect and do it again. Like Plath's Lady Lazarus, he does it exceptionally well. Eschatological appeared in 1996 and Work in Regress the following year, but even with a deathmask on the cover of Ob. (1999), he wasn't finished yet. With -273.15 marking his fifth collection since then, it's a safe bet that Reading's karaoke anthem is 'Never Can Say Goodbye'.

Collected Poems : Poems 1997-2003 Each of his collections has been self-contained, as carefully constructed and plotted as a novel, interweaving voices and narrative strands which can now be seen to link the 24 books which make up his Collected Poems. This is published in three volumes: Poems 1970-1984 (Bloodaxe Books, 1995), Poems 1985-1996 (Bloodaxe Books, 1996) and now Poems 1997-2003 (Bloodaxe Books, 2003).
