Pobby and Dingan are invisible: but you don't have to see them to believe in them. They live in a harsh wilderness in New South Wales, the opal capital of the world, and are the friends of Kellyanne, the daughter of an opal miner. But when Pobby and Dingan vanish on the same day that her father faces some serious accusations, Kellyanne herself starts to fade with grief. Her brother discovers he must start to believe in their existence too, if he is to save her.

The film version of Ben Rice's uplifting novella is due to be released in 2005.
