Read or Die Inc.

Themes:Filipino Literature, general literature

Participants:Adult readers

We are a group of readers whose goal is to spread the love of reading and literature  in the Philippines through monthly discussions, sponsored literary talks, establishing networks with other like-minded organizations, and the advocacy of programs specifically aimed towards promoting literacy and maintaining a high profile for reading for purpose and for pleasure through volunteer work. We encourage public interest in and appreciation for different kinds of literature, especially writing produced by Filipino authors. The club was founded on November 2005. We held the first readers convention in the Philippines-the Read Or Die Convention-at the Hotel Intercontinental in Makati City on February 3-4 2007. A full profile of our club events and activities can be found in our website. We also maintain a Filipino literary portal at http://libro.ph. Our latest activity was a series of panel discussions collectively called Ang Bagong Libro at the just concluded Manila International Book Fair 2007.
