WHAT A GOOD SPORT!

What a Good Sport! a select bibliography of contemporary sporting literature from the UK

What a good sport! This bibliography aims to highlight some of the best contemporary UK fiction, poetry and auto/biography on the theme of sport, to bring new readers to the genre and to acknowledge the significance of sports writing within the contemporary writing scene. It has been divided up into key areas that reflect the particular strengths and themes running throughout sports writing and will help readers to navigate their way round the bibliography. As well as focusing on the contemporary writing scene it also pays tribute to some of the forefathers of the sports writing genre, profiling the work of writers such as Alan Sillitoe and Brian Glanville who were among the first to bring sport to life in their fiction.
