READING GROUP TWINS

Would you like to twin with another Reading Group in the world?

We can help you twin with another Reading Group either in the UK or elsewhere in the world to discuss the books you are reading. The other group could have readers of the same age or be reading books on the same theme. It could be a chance to share or exchange cultural experiences through reading.

You can browse through the Reading Groups listed in Where can I join a Reading Group?, choose a group and approach them directly or you can contact us (either Juliet Wragge-Morley or the Online Reader in Residence) and we will help to find you a partner Reading Group.

We are happy to set up webboard threads for your twinned groups so that you can discuss the books you are reading or to arrange chats either for the two groups to meet and discuss books online or for you to meet an author.

To find out more take a look at Twinned reading groups use of encompass.

Twins have included: Currie School in Edinburgh and a young readers group in Uzbekistan; Reading schools with Ukrainian young learners.

In the East Midlands, public libraries are supporting book groups through their regional network. By sharing their expertise and ideas they aim to improve services right across the region. Click here to find out more about the East Midlands Reading Group Project

The British Council and AHRC-funded ‘Devolving Diasporas’ team are working together to link readers around the world and learn more about how readers in different locations understand the same text. For more information take a look at Diaspora and Reading.
