EnCompassCulture is a worldwide reading group, the place to find your next book and talk about books with other readers around the world. It has full details of over 6,000 books for all age ranges and is full of useful features.

At enCompass you can Chat with leading authors and other readers, read Author interviews, join our Discussion boards and take part in our Readers' Quiz. You can receive recommendations from the reviews on the site or from our Online Reader in Residence, catch up with the News and events posted on the site, or discover a mine of information about Reading Groups.

To help you find your perfect read there are Five ways to search and browse. You can also read and write book reviews, follow related web links and read about the books.

We can help your Reading Group partner with a Reading Group in another country (see Where can I join a Reading Group?) to share your reading experiences through discussions on the Webboard and Chat.

Flash or non-Flash

We have produced a non-Flash site for those who cannot install or use the Flash plug-in on their computer and for visually impaired users or those with motor disabilities. For everyone else, we recommend that you view this site in all its glory with the Flash version. Credits

The site is produced by the British Council Literature Department to provide a virtual space for Reading Groups around the world to meet, discuss books and talk to authors. It includes the best contemporary UK and Commonwealth literature (fiction, poetry, drama, auto/biography, travel and science).
